Fusiderm Ointment is a specialized antibacterial treatment designed to eradicate primary and secondary skin infections. The active ingredient, Sodium Fusidate, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping the spread of infection and allowing the skin to heal.

Because this is an ointment rather than a cream, it provides a protective barrier over the skin and stays on the surface longer. This makes it particularly effective for:

• Dry or flaky infections: The base helps rehydrate the skin while treating the bacteria.

• Crusted lesions: Such as those found in impetigo.

• Targeted relief: It is highly active against Staphylococcus aureus, the most common cause of skin infections.

Unlike Fusiderm B, this formulation does not contain a corticosteroid, making it suitable for infections where a steroid is not required or should be avoided.
